home for the holidays

We had the funnest Christmas at our house. That's why I haven't updated my blog until now. We have been crazy busy. Garrett and West couldn't get enough of the present opening. Kev and I were surprised to see that West actually loved it. I thought he was still a little young, but he was so fun to watch. Garrett couldn't have been happier, he wanted trucks and trailers and that's exactly what Santa brought. West got a fun train that plays music. They were both so happy. Kev spoiled me and made me a cute desk for my computer. It's in the slide show below. I loved it, he kept it a secret until Christmas eve. It was the best present! We hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Free haircuts!

We decided it was time for the boys to have a little haircut. Lucky for me, Kev knows just how to do it. It was Weston's first official haircut. I thought it would be hard for him to sit still but he actually loved it and sat perfectly still. Garrett enjoyed it a little too much, he was hyper so it was harder to convince him to sit still. It was fun for me because I just watched while Kev did all the work.

Gingerbread Houses!

We had a lot of fun the other night with some friends. We decided it might be fun to make gingerbread houses. It can be really stressful and really fun at the same time. It was hard to compete with such creative people. Matt and Jess had a cute christmas tree and lights all across the roof, and Bradyn and Katie made a log cabin with a deer head mounted on the outside of it. They were both so cute. I am not a creative person at all so thankfully Kev helped out and decided to put shutters and some other fun stuff on ours. Bradyn and Katie took the win for sure!! I love being surrounded by such fun happy people.

We started a fun tradition at the first of December, and it is our new favorite thing to do. We sit by the Christmas tree with blankets and read Christmas books just before bed. I think the boys really enjoy it. Garrett loves it because he gets to stay up a little later and he has me and Kev all to himself. Usually Weston is in bed by the time we do it, but if we're home we try to do it with him too.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, the boys have matching pj's. I wish they could wear matching pj's forever but I'm pretty sure it won't be happening. We are having so much fun this year preparing for Christmas (that's why I'm so behind on my blog.) I love the days we can just stay home with the fun tree and watch Christmas shows. I don't ever want it to end!!

Helpin' Dad

Garrett cannot let Kevin do anything alone. He has to be by his side helping him, or at least trying to help. Do you love Garrett's big snow shovel? I obviously need to get the poor guy a big one. I love that it is snowing now! It just makes me even more excited for Christmas.

So Big!

This is Weston's favorite thing to do (as of two days ago). It is so funny to watch him, he kind of reminds me of an old man with a walker. I love watching him do new things everyday.

We had such a fun weekend. My parents decided to have our annual Christmas party early this year. It was the perfect weekend because everyone was in town. The party was a blast, Santa came and brought presents for the kids, we ate dinner, and we played games. Our parents are always thinking about others and they are constantly giving. We love and appreciate them so much. Garrett is still talking about Santa and how he came to Grandmas to see him. He thinks that was Christmas. He has no idea! He's at the perfect age, I can't wait.

My sick little guys!!

Don't they look so sad and sick? Garrett was sick on Friday with a cold that turned into croup. Now West has it too. It's such a bummer because my family is in town for Thanksgiving and we haven't been able to hang out with them. We've been stuck in the house all weekend. I can't wait for them to get better. Hopefully it will be before Thanksgiving. At least the boys have eachother. Garrett has been singing "You are my sunshine, you make me happy when skies are GRAPE" to West and I think he loves it. He always checks on him after he coughs. He'll say " you ok brudder?" I just love them and hope we can get them feeling better soon.

I can't believe how fast the boys are growing. I have mixed feelings about it. I hate how fast it goes but at the same time, I love how they learn to do something new everyday. Lately West has been waving bye bye, shaking his head when you say no, playing pat a cake, and my favorite thing he does is blow kisses. I love teaching him new tricks. Garrett loves it too, he's always telling West to do funny things. G calls West "Brudder"(brother). They are starting to get along so good now. It makes life so much easier for me. Garrett is starting to say everything we say. Today he said, "thanks hun" when I gave him his lunch. I think he got it from Kev.

*I was born in the car on the way to the hospital. My parents debated using the name Carly or Cami Ray because the car was a Toyota Camry. (Thank goodness they stuck with Ashley.)

Sorry Mom

I was at my moms the other day sitting in the family room and in walks Garrett with black marks all over his face. He found my mascara in my bag and decided it would be fun to try putting it on. He got pretty close! The first thing he said to me was, "Sorry Mom." How could I get upset about that.

Dressing up

One of our friends had a Halloween party on Thursday. We didn't get a lot of pictures at all but it was really fun dressing up and hanging out with our friends. Jess was there too even though I don't have any pictures of her.

Snow!

We were so excited to wake up this morning and find snow on the ground. I think I was more excited than the kids. The first thing we did was make a little snowman, he was only about 4 " tall.

I can't wait until we get a real snow storm! I think the snow has already mostly melted. I'm glad we went out early and got some snow time in.

Girls Day Out!!

My sister Lori came down from St. George last weekend. We had a Girls Day Out, it was a blast. My sweet niece Courtney watched Garrett and some of the other boys for us. Thanks Court, we could have never gone if you didn't help us out. My mom took us to this fun little place in Salt Lake, it's a french bistro and bakery. They are famous for their pastries. We love pastries! It was delicious, thanks mom. We went to Gygi's and Tai Pan. Oh what a day, what more could you ask for. I love to eat and shop, perfect combination! I miss Lori so much.

The Little Guys!

G loves shoes so much, he has always been interested in any shoe he can find. He wears my shoes around all the time and Kev tells him not to wear girl shoes only boy ones. I love watching him try to get around in a pair of shoes that are ten sizes too big. He is so fun to watch and to hang out with, I love my little buddy so much!

West is growing up so fast. He is almost 11 months old. Everyday he is trying something new. He has just discovered his voice and all of the sounds he can make. I love hearing his little voice and seeing his sweet face while he's telling me all about his day! He's already got such a fun personality.

Friday Night Lights!

Kev has been playing flag football with his friends every Friday night. He has done really good and has been voted MVP by the team! It's a fun night out with his friends and the kids have fun being outside and watching their dad play.

Weston

I thought these pictures were kind of funny of Weston. I love how he fell asleep while he was in his jumper toy. I think the jumping must have worn him out, poor guy.

Just like Daddy!

All I can say is that Garrett is in love with his dad. He won't let Kev go anywhere without him right by his side. Kevin is so sweet about it too, he lets him help do everything! I love watching the two of them hang out together. I think his dad is always going to be his best friend. Kevin is so patient, I am trying to learn from him.

Weston and Julia

My friend Melody came over this week, It was so fun to see her cute baby, Julia. I don't get to see the two of them very often because Mel is busy teaching preschool. Anyway, we had a blast and I just had to show off her cute baby. Weston has a lot of cute girls to choose from! We are definately going to try to get around our busy schedules and hang out more. I think our kids would be such good friends.
